I have the BIC Super Magnum surfboard, but when I heard about the Big Boy with its eComp construction(epoxy over foam), I wanted to try this board. I like the Super Magnum because it is wide. I love this board! It light and yet rigid. It catches waves easily and is very responsive. It feels light under my feet, turns nicely, and is very stable. Plenty of floatation and the 28inch width is a great asset. I truly believe that what a big guy (200+lbs) needs is width, not length in a surfboard. If this board were available 2 years ago, I wouldn't have wasted my time trying longer, thicker, but narrower boards. I would have purchased fewer boards in my quest to find one easy to surf. I surfed as a kid, when I weighed a lot less; taking surfing up again after many years and quite a few pounds later was more difficult than I would have thought. Now that I have tried this board and was able to pop right up and able to surf it to the shore (on purpose), if I were I to do it over again and this board was available, I would just get this one and maybe just one more later when I was better. Would have saved a lot. In case you are thinking that it might be too wide to paddle comfortably, IT IS NOT. It paddles well, goes over or through the white water easily. Excellent product! It feels very stable when paddling and has good glide for a light board.
