sizing off, quality problems

I will update this once the new pair arrives. They seem warm, and have a lot of features I like, eg buckle in a good place, no zipper, flexible material, recycled materials.However, as the other reviewer noted: GET A SIZE UP. I'm a 10.5 and 11s are usually a little big, so i figured the 11 would be fine. Its not. My middle toes on both feet press painfully into the toe space. Maybe my toes are weird shaped, but to this point in my life its never been a problem with 10.5s. I'm not sure who xcel got to size these puppies, but its definitely off.My other complaint is that these arent true split toes. To me a split toe is supposed to offer increased dexterity and movement. On both boots the 'split' shares the same solid sole. With zero speration. On one of the boots, the big toe part is directly fused to the other toes. So even if the unseperated sole offered flexibility (still odd since other brands fully sperate it) this is negated on the other boot where theyre hardly articulated at all.

go up a size

I'm firmly in the xcel camp after buying the 7mm round toe and struggling for years with other brands. So I just ordered the same size in this 5mm and found it too small. So I'm going up a size. I recommend a size up from your shoe as well.
